Hi All!
Sorry you did'nt get a post yesterday.  I totally forgot.

How was your Monday?  Mine was great.  My mom came out for the afternoon and early evening and my day flew by.  We had such a nice time!  Also!!  She added up all the GST for the year from the business receipts for me.  Phew.  What a gift!  I seriously have an amazing mom.  I love her.

A few weeks ago Jon bought Naveed some seeds and they planted them this weekend.  He did not check the germination time or what kind of sun the flowers need so I have no idea if they will survive the summer.  We have mostly shade on our yard and I have a feeling that they are plants in need of full sun.  Oh well!  Naveed was super excited to get the seeds and happy to plant them and really, that's what counts.

Here are some pictures!

Friday 25 April 2014

This was one of those weeks where I never did get caught up with school work, house work or this blog.
I showed up to everything required of me but I did not have my best to give.

Sometimes, my life is like that.

What I am finding is that my ability to handle stress has been diminished greatly in this past year.  I get drained far more easily and require greater amounts of home a lone time to recharge than ever before.  Life has been hard and my body and mind and emotions just can't deal with it like I used to.  This month has been especially hard for me.

My hope and prayer is that in time, I will heal and be able to handle normal life stresses without needing hours and hours of quiet and alone time.  I don't bounce back these days.  It's more like a slow boil back to normalcy.

I suppose that after what Jon and me have been through this year, I get to take the time to take care of myself.  That it is ok for me to not bounce back and to not have as much to offer anyone.
I have given myself permission for that.  And because I know myself, when the day of healing comes, I will know it will be time to leave this season and carry on with life in the next phase.  Nothing last lasts forever.

I love this picture of Naveed.  It is so tricky to get her in candid shots with her beautiful smile.  She is my favourite girl in all the world.

On Easter Sunday my parents came out for a late lunch.  This is my mom.  I love her.  This is also a weird angle of my face.  Ha! We took the kids out for a walk after we were done eating.  It was a beautiful day.

The next 2 pictures are a before and after from yesterday.  I had not done dishes since Monday!  I found the weekend to be very draining and I did not care to do the dishes until I had replenished my reserves.  I require a fair amount of down time to take care of myself after I have given much of myself in situations I find difficult or where a situation demands I be very extroverted for a long amount of time.  Self care, for me, allowed me not to do my dishes and to serve my family hot dogs on napkins, 2 suppers in a row.  My kids thought they had died and gone to heaven.

What do you think of this mud hole?!  Any suggestions about how to build a retaining wall without actually building a retaining wall?  The fence is (or was) on the property line and the mud is the neighbors yard.  I went to City Hall and they have issued a warning to the owner.  He needs to change how he has the sump pump, according to the by-laws he needs to have a different plan for drainage.  What I find the most frustrating is that our patio stones are starting to fall away into that mud pit and I don't feel like I have say in the matter.  Until he fixes the ditch and unsupported dirt, I can't do anything.  He wants to dig a new ditch through the other side of yard for proper drainage but I don't trust him to do a good job.  This mud hole has been getting worse for 5 years now.  And has done next to nothing to fix it.  I am angry.  I am worried about property damage.  The City is doing everything they can.  I wish he would just sell the house so I could deal with someone else.

So, there is an update on that!

Here is how Rohk left his breakfast "plate" yesterday.  (I hadn't done the dishes yet :)  I love how ordered he is.  I totally get it!

My girl creating something with glue and glitter.  What else does a girl need really!?

And Rohk was playing in the sand box.  There is actually a box there.

And then he wanted to glitter something as well!

Thanks for stopping by.

The Building and Zoning Department at City of Steinbach are going to be very annoyed with me by the end of this week.  I am so fed up with the neighbours house not being finished and the water drainage problem he has is causing our property is erode into his yard.

I am ticked off.

I am going to raise a little hell.

So annoyed.

And to top it off!!  We are getting audited.  Again!!  I just got off the phone with CRA.

Lucky me!

Oooooo  I am in a fowl mood today.

I have called the city and CRA all without a coffee in my blood stream.

Maybe I should get on that.

Now, here are some pictures I took last week of a lazy morning, I am not sure where Naveed was...  maybe she was sleeping.

Hello Monday!

I am chugging on my coffee this morning.  Mmmmm

I have been so busy lately that I have not been putting terribly much thought into what I put up here.  Hopefully life will calm down soon and I can type up a heart felt post that will make your heart swell with warmth and hope.

However!  Until that day materializes,  here are some shoes I found in Pinterest that I would wear in a heartbeat!  They are in no particular order.  I am in love with all of them.

Have a great week everyone!
I hope that wherever you are, the sun is shining and you get to enjoy it warmth.

Now for some shoes!!!
(sorry.  no links.  just type in flat shoes on pinterest and these will pop up)

When I need something fast and fun for the kids to do, I make cupcakes and let them sprinkle them up.  These particular cupcakes were made from a No Name Brand cake mix that I bought for $1.  And then I used real butter and cream in the icing.  I have my principles after all!
These are pictures from about 20 minutes of fun.

My friend sent me a link to this video and I rather enjoyed it. So I thought I would share it with all!

That video got me thinking of this video because it also makes me smile

And then I thought of this video!

Which led me to this gem!!

If you watched all those videos, you just had a great time.  You're welcome.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday planned... because planning makes me happy.  So if planning makes you un-happy, I hope your day is filled with no plans!  Now that we have sorted that all out,  my day has been set aside for a friend that is moving today.  I am so very excited to see her new home!

Today will be dedicated to making food that is easy to eat and save for later.  Also kid friendly.  I am hoping my friend get's hungry and needs food because I am good at supplying food.

Easter is this weekend and we have some surprise company coming this weekend, so a special trip to the grocery store was needed.  Naveed has requested hot dogs for supper one night so I have happily obliged her.  Now that is an easy meal to plan for.

I can be a good host when the plans are on my terms or if there is a good relationship in place to compensate for the lack of planning.  When neither of those options are available to me I can get anxious and/or belligerent, depending on the situation.
How to be a gracious host in such circumstances sometimes alludes me.

Now, time to put on some good tunes and focus on the chores at hand.
Happy Thursday Everyone

Wednesday 16 April 2014

Hi!  How is your morning going so far?  Mine is going by very fast.  It's almost 10am!?  Usually I like to have these post's done by 9am at the latest.  I went back to bed for 30min this morning once I had the kids watching cartoons.  I felt like it.

Often times what I eat for supper is random stuff I throw in a pot that I hope will taste good.  This time it was very good and I would make a version of it again.

I started with my favourite pot, because that is a good place to begin anything, with something you love.
Onion and butter seemed to make sense.

A little green pepper

Some celery

That is pesto that I let cook there for minute before incorporating it into the veggies.

I put wilted spinach in everything

Some left over canned tomatoes

Ground beef from what my family was eating

I like a bit of heat these days

And last, some spaghetti squash

Sprinkled a bit of cheese on top and this was a really good supper!
